The Prime Samm breed is a fast maturing sheep with excellent growth rates. It produces a sought after lean meat for local and export markets, as well as having excellent wool, a high fertility and good milk quality.
The stud was established in October 1996 from top South African genetics. Most initial genetics were from Whellan Simkins "Riga Stud". The Riga Stud was established in 1948 and is recognised as one of the leading and oldest studs in South Africa. We also infused genetics from Greylings, Du Toit, Badenhurst and Collett. The Stud is now importing more genetics to fit into its expanding genetic pool.
Bulbarli has achieved many milestones in its short beginnings with its genetics being spread right across Australia into every major state. They have also exported embryos and live animals to three overseas markets with the buyers being very happy with our genetics.
The Stud has been going through an aggressive embryo transfer programme so as to get more animals on the ground to be able to produce more commercial rams for a growing market.
